Food Security Consortium is a Food & Water Security Pan African Think-tank. To drive its Food & Water Initiatives, Food Security Consortium is promoting the generation and use of renewable energy. The World is moving to renewable Energy and Biofuels.

 

Food Security Consortium has partnered with Global Energy Matters and other Global firms in Renewable Energy and it Promoting Solar Power-Generation in its Kibwezi farm in Makueni and it is also in talks with other strategic partners to develop Solar Energy in Malindi and Nyandarua as it also explore Wind Energy Generation.

 

Bagasse Co-Generation

Food Security Consortium has partnered with some Sugar Mills in the Country to develop Co-generated power using cane-waste(Bagasse) for the Sugar firms own use and to sell the excess power generated to the National Grid via the Kenya Power & Lighting Company(KPLC).

 

Bio Fuels

The World is moving away from fossil fuels to bio-fuels. In this regard, Food Security Consortium shall partner with others to promote the growing of Jethropa & Castor Oil in its Kibwezi farm, in Makueni County.
